The seed that was to become BLIMS Fine Furniture was planted towards the end of the 19th century when the forefather of Mr. Benito Lim, founder of Automatic Appliances, Inc. (Automatic Centre), opened a furniture store in Binondo, Manila. That first store became a chain of furniture outlets, the largest in the country during the early part of the 20th century, until World War II came to the Philippines and halted the furniture retail company's operations.
